Follow Up Appointments

AFTER JOINT REPLACEMENT SURGERY

The first postoperative visit is usually at six weeks after surgery. Subsequent follow up appointments are at six months, two years, five years and every five years thereafter. You will usually have repeat X-rays at each of these visits and the joint range of movement will be checked. Other clinical examinations and investigations may be done as required.

AFTER KNEE REALIGNMENT

The first visit is at 10-14 days after surgery when the wound is inspected and the sutures are removed. The following visits will be at six weeks then at 3 months after surgery to assess the healing of the bone. Thereafter, the follow up is guided by the bone healing process and the clinical outcome after surgery.

AFTER KNEE ARTHROSCOPY

The first visit is at 10-14 days after surgery when the wounds and the joint are inspected and then at six weeks after surgery. You will be discharged at this stage if full recovery has been achieved.

AFTER ACL RECONSTRUCTION

The first visit is at 10-14 days after surgery when the wounds and the joint are inspected. Subsequent follow up appointments are organized for six weeks, three months, six months and nine months after surgery to assess your rehabilitation at our orthopaedic clinic in Sydney.
